goTO: Wine by the River

Welcome to Grand Reserve Bend

The Grand Reserve Bend is a two part wine judging competition which is an integral part of the Wine by the River festival which is held annually in Bend, Oregon.

Prior to the festival, participating wineries are offered the opportunity to take part in the Grand Reserve Bend professional competition which is administered by Wine Press NW. Wines in six categories are critiqued by a panel of six distinguished judges in a double-blind tasting of the wines. The wineries that have wines voted as the "Best of the Best" will be represented in our Grand Reserve Bend section at the festival.

The second competition is a consumer judging that actually takes place during the Wine by the River event. Consumer judges take to the stage in the demonstration tent, under the direction of Mark Chandler of Lodi California. They use the same 6 categories as the professional judges from Wine Press NW to choose the consumers "Best of the Best".
